Preparatory Course for Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level Examination

Objectives:
The Preparatory Course for Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level Examination Programme aims to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to do well in the internationally recognized examinations set by University of Cambridge and Ministry of Education Singapore. Students can opt for any of the subjects below. Private candidates are allowed to take a maximum of 6 subjects.

Modules Offered:

Core Modules Elective Modules
English Additional Mathematics
Elementary Mathematics Principles of Accounts
Combined Science (Physics / Chemistry)
Minimum 2 core modules and 3 elective modules required.
Students who wish to take less than 5 modules will study for 3hrs/module/week.

 

Academic Progression:
Students who pass the examination can apply for entry into:

  • local Polytechnics or
  • private diploma programmes

Assessment Methods:
Assessment is based on written examinations set by the Ministry of Education Singapore and University of Cambridge International Examinations (UK). Students are required to enrol for the examination with SEAB via ww.seab.gov.sg.

Graduation Criteria:
Students are deemed graduated when they have completed the course with at least 90% attendance for international students and 80% attendance for local students.

Attendance Requirement:
All Student Pass Holders are required to maintain a record of 90% and above. Failure to do so may lead to cancellation of student pass.

Non-Student Pass Holders are required to maintain a record of 80% and above. Failure to do so may result in suspension or termination of the student.

Course Duration:
Full-time:
Option 1 : 12 months (weekly 5 days x 6 hrs), or
Option 2 : 24 months (weekly 5 days x 6 hrs)
Part-time: 10 months (weekly 5 days x 3 hrs)

Monthly Test: Last week of the month

Awards: Upon graduation, students can be given a Statement of Achievement upon request.

Education Path:
