Course Objective:

The Postgraduate Certificate is designed to focus on the development of knowledge, skills and understanding in the key aspects of teaching and training for the 21st Century. As a continuum of the Postgraduate Certificate, the modules enable teachers, trainers and educators to examine their assumptions and beliefs in teaching, understand the multi-facets interface of interactions between the teacher, students and learning environment, the complexities of individuals’ readiness, interest and learning dispositions that affect learning outcomes and to engage critically with thinking visibly, differentiation of classes, concept based teaching and other strategies in teaching.

As the participants develop their skills and knowledge through research, evaluation, role play and material adaptation, they will become reflective educators who are innovative and are equipped for teaching and training in the 21st century.

In the Certificate, the participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Critically review learning theories to help them understand and develop their own professional practice and learners’ learning.
  • Design lessons and materials that meet curriculum and learners’ needs.
  • Evaluate strategies used to facilitate the learners’ learning to help them progress and achieve learning outcomes.
  • Evaluate teaching methodologies and their effectiveness in classroom management and students’ learning.
